Class Teacher for Grade 1 at Emiliaskolan
Fören EmiliaskolanSkåne län, Höör
Previous experience is desired
Emiliaskolan, Höörs Waldorf School, has been around for over 30 years. We are located within cycling distance from Höör station, in a scenic area with the forest right at our doorstep. We have one class per grade with a maximum of 24 students per class, and our own after-school care in the building. The preschool Lill-Emilia is also located in the village. We are now looking for a class teacher for grade 1 for the autumn term of 2026.
We offer:
Emiliaskolan is characterized by a holistic view of the students aimed at developing the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Some features that distinguish our pedagogy are that we work with thematic periods, prioritize creative activities such as art, crafts, and music, and often utilize the beautiful forest that we have just outside our doors.
Being a class teacher for a primary class with us means being a guide, a leader, and one of the most important people in the world for a group of wonderful little individuals. It is about creating curiosity through storytelling and long forest excursions to magical places, and providing security through a predictable rhythm for both the day and the school year. Working with us also means being an active part of an engaged faculty, and knowing that your strengths and abilities are appreciated and utilized.
The position is a permanent employment that begins with a probationary period, starting in conjunction with the beginning of the autumn term. Our intention is for you to follow your class for many years.
We have a collective agreement and offer wellness benefits, and as a new class teacher, you will receive a mentor for support.
We are looking for:
We are primarily looking for someone who is a certified teacher and preferably has previous experience working as a class teacher. We expect you to have knowledge of Waldorf pedagogy and want to teach based on this.
You are confident in your teaching role and work independently, but can be flexible and help your colleagues when needed. We also want you to share our holistic view of students' development, where we strive for thought, feeling, and will to be given their due. This means valuing all students' unique conditions and planning teaching based on where the students are. We also expect you, in collaboration with your colleagues, to contribute to developing and improving both your teaching and the school as a whole.
Application:
Please send your application with a CV and cover letter to our administrative manager Johanna Hanell at [email protected] by February 22nd. Selection is ongoing. If you have questions, you can also email them to the same address. Please note that we have winter break in week eight, so if you contact us then, it may take a little while before you receive a response or confirmation of your application.
